Current Temperature in Blacksburg

Thanks to the fact of moving from one country to another, I was exposed to different cultures and was able to learn different languages. Indeed, I'm fluent in Vietnameese, French and English. I would be glad if I had more time and opportunities to practice my Spanish. Maybe after all, I will be living some day somewhere in one of the Spanish-speaking countries! Who knows...

I'm currently enrolled in the Ph.D.'s program in Electrical Engineering at Virginia Tech and working for the Virginia Tech Antenna Group as research assistant. My interest is in wideband low-profile small antennas for wireless hand-held applications.

I was born on the 7th of August 1972 in Saigon, Vietnam. I've lived there for eight years before my family and I moved to Belgium. There, I spent twelve years in the beautiful town named Liège, about 45 minutes South-East of the Capital Bruxelles.

On January 7th, 1993, here I am again on another continent, another country, another culture. This time I decided to follow my two brothers's path and attend the same school that they both graduated from, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. The eldest has received his Ph.D. in electrical Engineering (power electronics), while the other one has earned his B.S. degree in finance at Virginia Tech and graduated with a Master's degree in photography from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. Yet again I've been surrounded by many wonderful people here in the US.
